Rusty Stuff

The reason I call myself a rustic gardener is because I love rusty old metal garden and farming tools and old weathered wood. There's just something about the look of it that I enjoy, especially in the winter when everything is dead and there's nothing in the garden for the eye to appreciate. I have to limit my collection to just small items as I don't have the space for anything to large. I also love rusty metal yard decorations... now that I think about it, the garden & farm tools are merely decorative as I certainly don't use them as intended. If I had a larger yard, I would come home from each flea market and farm sale with a truck load of rusty stuff.

The following photos are of my favorite pieces.

Garden at Night

I took these photos of my backyard one evening, two years ago. Please overlook the fact the lawn needed mowed. That particular chore is always at the bottom of my to-do list.

At dusk.

At nightfall.

Goldenrod is one of my favorite flowers. It always blooms in the summer though, rather than the fall as it is suppose to.

Spring Cleaning

The other day I took the time to clean out these two wren houses. I have two more in the front yard that also need cleaning, which I hopefully won't forget to do.

Here are some photos of the other bird houses I have.
